Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide wave cancelling apparatus with self-defense mechanism by which damage and loss of the said raft-like frame structure is prevented in such a way that the frame structure is automatically sunk into water in rough seas by the action of waves owing to the self-defense mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: Wave cancelling raft-like frame apparatus 10 is provided with self- sinking tank 3 with water inlet 4 which is tightly closed by plug 5 connected through chain 6 to weight 7 located on sea bottom. When floating platform 1 to which box- like frame structure 2 of the apparatus 10 and the tank 3 are both connected is violently swung in rough seas, anchor chain 11 for the platform 1 is cut off so that mooring force is applied only to the chain 6 which will then pull the plug 5 out of hole 18 interconnected to water inlet 4 by such pulling force as to overcome securing force of threaded stud 17 by which plug 5 is secured. As a result, self-sinking tank 3 is filled with sea water coming thereinto through hole 18 of the water inlet 4, so that floating platform 1 and box-like frame structure 2 which is functional to have waves declined are sunk into water together with tank 3 due to heavy weight of tank 3 filled up with sea water so as to be spaced apart from violent water surface.
