Abstract

PURPOSE: By press-welding copper alloy surface plates to the both sides of a core material, which is an aluminum alloy, to obtain a triple-layered brake disk that is light and whose heat emissivity and antiabrasiveness are good.
CONSTITUTION: Surface plates 11a, 11b are formed on both sides of aluminum-alloy core material 10 by press-welding copper alloys, which are flux-treated beforehand, by such means as explosion-compression-welding for example. Then these are roll-shaped to the desired plate thickness, after which aluminum alloys and copper alloys are heated to the same temperature and the flux-treatment of aluminum alloy and ageing-treatment of copper alloy are done at the same time. Furthermore ageing treatment of aluminum alloy is done and brake disk 7 that is triple-layered is formed. In this case, as the heat conductivity of both aluminum alloy and copper alloy is great, they excel in heat emissivity and the copper alloy that forms surface plates 11a, 11b has good anti-abrasiveness so that a long longevity can be possible.
