Abstract
PURPOSE: To control feeding capacity of fuel directly in accordance with a load of an engine by providing an adjusting ring, pivoted and reciprocated by a crank-shaft of the engine, at an outer periphery of a plunger, arranged in a fuel injection pump and adjusting the feeding capacity of the fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A main pump body 1 arranged in a cylinder bore 4, is equipped with a discharging valve 6 and a damping valve 7 and discharges fuel through a passage 9. A barrel 8, in which a plunger 10 is sliding reciprocably, and a piston 25 surrounding the barrel 8 are arranged below the valve 6. Further therebelow, an adjusting gear 16 mating with an adjusting ring 18 is provided. The plunger 10 is also cooperating with a cam 14 for a driving shaft 2 through a piston 12. The adjusting ring 18 is pivoted by a rack-rod 17 moving in response to a load of an engine and is reciprocated by a fuel pressure from a passage 29. An inclined groove 19 controls an opening degree of a fuel port 24 and adjusts a feeding capacity of the fuel in a fuel entering chamber 21.
