Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to effect a heat exchange through any desired path and with any desired portion by a elongated heat pipe made of a flexible corrugated pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A flexible corrugated pipe is prepared by forming a spiral or bellows-like convexities and concavities on a comparatively thin-walled matallic pipe, and is sealed at its both ends. The flexible corrugated pipe is then evacuated and filled with a liquid to form a heat pipe. A capillary structure may be disposed in the heat pipe to inprove the thermal efficiency. Alternatively, a liquid-transporting flexible pipe and a pump are used in combination with the heat pipe. In such a case, the upper and lower sections of the heat pipe are used as the heat-receiving section and a heat-radiating sections, respectively.
