Abstract
PURPOSE: To transfer patterns by means of self-adhesion of resin and heat and pressure produced during foaming without using a die separator by pouring a foamable resin into the transfer sheet fixed to the female die and overlapping the male die thereon for foam-setting the resin therebetween.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer sheet 5 comprising of a combination of a film substrate 1 and a pattern 2 is put on a female die 6 with the pattern directed upward. The sheet 5, if desired, may be vacuum molded in the female die. Then a foamable polyurethane resin 9 is poured and a male die 10 is overlapped thereon for foam- setting it therebetween. The pattern 2 is transferred to the surface of the foam molding 12 due to the self-adhesion of the resin 9 and the heat and pressure produced during foaming. The molding 12 is separated from the dice and also from the substrate 1 and then subjected to a coating, if desired.
EFFECT: The dice to be used may not be metallic because no thermal pressure is applied from the exterior.
