Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect the sheet manuscript from damage by halting the conveyance thereof freeing the portion holding the manuscript when any abnormalty is detected in transit.
CONSTITUTION: When a abnormalty signal is sent from an abnormalty detection sensor, a plunger 47 is actuated and a lock lever 43 is turned clockwise. Consequently, a hook-shaped section 49 comes off a pin 48 on the middle front plate 39 and a release unit 64 turns clockwise with a spring 66 on a hinge 65. In order that a cam 67 on the middle front side plate 39 may cause a pin 78 on the first roller lever 50 to turn counterclockwise, a roller 32 separates from a conveying belt as the pressure thereon is released. Likewise, with the movement of a pin 56 of the first roller lever 50, the second roller lever 57 is turned clockwise and a roller 21 separates from the conveying belt as the pressure thereon is released.
