Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the two-dimensional analysis possible by moving a probe, which is operative to emit and receive ultrasonic waves, in a preset mode.
CONSTITUTION: A guide portion 7 is arranged along the side frame 6 of a self- running truck 3 which can run along a rail 1 laid on the bottom plate 2 of a container to be located. A probe 5 is so made that it can be intermittently driven along the guide portion 7. A hand truck 11, on which an X-Y recorder 10, an ultrasonic locator 12 and a control panel 13 are carried, is connected through a cable 9 with the self-running ruck 3. As a result, the probe 5 is intermittently moved, while moving the truck 3 along the rail 1, in the direction perpendicular thereto so that the thickness of the bottom plate 2 is measured and recorded in the X-Y recorder 10, thus making the two-dimentional analysis possible.
