Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the resin from decomposing in melt molding, and to make it possible to maintain the improved mechanical properties and appearance of molded articles, by melt molding a resin composition comprising an aromatic polyester, a polyamide, and water.
CONSTITUTION: In melt molding a resin composition comprising (A) an aromatic polyester copolymer and/or polyester-polycarboxylic acid anhydride obtained from (a) a mixture of terephthalic acid (T) and isophthalic acid (P) or their functional derivatives at a molar ratio of (T)W(P) of 9:1W1:9 and (b) a bisphenol A of the formula (X is O, S, SO2, CO, alkylene, or alkylidene group; R1, R2, R3, R4, R1', R2', R3', and R4' are H or hydrocarbon groups) and (B) a polyamide, (C) 0.04W 1wt% based on the total amount of (A) and (B) of water is added to the composition.
