Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a modified polypropylene having remarkably improved paintability and adhesivity, by the melt-mixing of a polypropylene resin, a solid rubber, an unsaturated carboxylic acid, and a radical generator, in the absence of solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The title resin is prepared by the melt-mixing of (A) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin, such as stereoregular polypropylene and a propyleneethylene copolymer, (B) 0.5W20 parts of a solid rubber, pref. 1,2-polybutadiene, polyisoprene, polychloroprene or their mixture, (C) 5W30 parts of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative, and (D) 0.5W5 parts of a radical generator, in the absence of solvent, wherein the ratio of the unsaturated carboxylic acid to the radical generator is adjusted within 1W30.
