Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid unsymmetrical wear at end surface machining for magnetic heads, by providing a plurality of sets of conductor groups at the specific position up and down the magnetic substance of the multi-channel type thin film magnetic head, and monitoring the state of wear through the detection of the progress of open wire of the conductor wires. CONSTITUTION:On the transparent substrate 6, the thin film magnetic resistor type head(MR head) 2 and the conductor layer 3 are provided. The lower conductor pattern 7 arranged in parallel with the polished surface under the substrate 6 and provided for a plurality vertically is formed and the protective cover 9 is covered via the adhesives 8.
