Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a battery cover for electronic watches, which is simple in reducing treatment and which has its battery replacing operation facilitated, by determining the rotating range upon a battery insertion with the use of a relief groove for a bayonet and a protrusion formed at the side of the battery cover.
CONSTITUTION: The flange 9 of a battery inserting slit 7 has its inner wall formed with three equi-distant relief grooves 9a, 9b and 9c and a relief groove 14 for regulating the rotation of a battery cover. On the other hand, the battery cover 8 has its body 11 formed at its ring 10 with protrusions 10a, 10b and 10c and a protrusion 13 for rotation prevention. Upon mounting a battery, this battery 8 is inserted into a slit 7, and the protrusions 10a to 10c are fitted in the grooves 9a to 9c, respectively. Under the condition having the protrusion 13 abutting against the one end face 9a-2 of a groove 14, the cover 8 is pushed and fastened reliably in the direction of arrow until the protrusion 13 abuts against the other end face 9a-1 of the groove 14 so that the respective protrusions are retained on the flange 9, as shown in dotted lines. Thus, the battery cover 8 is fixed to a rear cover 2 by the restoring force of a packing 12 and the elastic forces of the respective protrusions.
