Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an effective and compact waste water treatement with an reduced amount of chemical consumption, in the system wherein organic waste water is added with a coagulant of ferric salt to allow suspended materials to be flocked for separation, then treated with active carbon for adsorption.
CONSTITUTION: Organic waste water such as sewage oozing out from reclaimed land using waste is added with coagulant of ferric salt such as ferric sulfate and ferric chloride in an amount of 10W1000ppm, converted as iron atom and made to pH 3W5.5. The process allows suspended matter, organic materials, and coloring components to be coagulated as flocks of ferric hydroxide. Thereafter, the treated waste water is neutralized with alkali such as slaked lime and separated by processing with auxiliary coagulant and pressurized floating. Then, the treated water is filtered and adsorbed by active carbon. The process thus provides a high-degree treatment of organic materials in the waste water while minimizing chemical consumption.
