Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify manufacture by simplifying the structure of an ultrasonic probe by relaxing the condition of the width of a vibrator by using titanic acid lead-based ceramic for the vibrator. CONSTITUTION:Since titanic acid lead-based ceramic provides the great relaxation of the condition of the width of a vibrator for the damping of unneeded lateral vibration, the width size can be elongated, so that it will be suitable for an ultrasonic probe. Vibrators 4 using this material are made to correspond to electrodes 2 at the same pitches as electrodes 2. In this constitution, each vibrator 4 can remove sufficiently unneeded vibration by one element for one electrode. The structure is therefore simple and an ultrasonic probe, even in case of use for high frequencies, can easily be manufactured.
