Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain high quality lamp, by performing the vacuum test or starting voltage test of lamp during the process thereby returning the defective lamp to the exhaust process prior to tip-off of exhaust tube.
CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing equipment is constituted by arranging twelve work heads 2 for mounting the fluorescent lamp in circle around the turn table 1. Fluorescent lamps 4 associated with exhaust tube is carried by conveyor 3 through sealing process and sequentially mounted on the work head 2 at position P1 by means of lamp mounting device 5. With the rotation of turn table 1, thermal exhaust, gas evacuation, mercury charging and Ar charging are performed at positions P2-P11 while the lamp 4 is mounted on the conveyor at position P12 by means of tipping device 4. On the way, at position P5, the vacuum is inspected to determine whether the lamp is defective. If it is defective the process is stopped to return the lamp to the exhaust process.
