Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably prolong chain life through simple rust inhibition treatment by applying electrodeposition coating to members such as side links, etc. which are most liable to corrode out of conveyor chain constituting members.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodeposition coating is applied to the three portions of the side links 1, center links 2 and pins 3 constituting the rivetless chains used generally for coating pretreatment, washing units. It is also equally well to apply electrodeposition coating only to the side links 1 which are particularly large in surface area of the abovementioned three portions and are liable to corrode. Applying zinc plating in addition to the foregoing electrodeposition coating is equally well. By this side treatment, the side links 1 in particular are presumed to have the effect of having durability of 4W5 years.
