Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve reliability in case of operation at high speed, by preventing the production of shrinkage holes, cracks due to shrinkage, etc. in boss root portions by mounting grooves around the roots of bosses for balance of this casting cage type rotor to which bars and end rings are integrally installed.
CONSTITUTION: Bosses 4 for balance are casted at the center between adjacent cooling fans 1 in the axial 3 direction that continues from end rings 2, and concave grooves 8 are disposed around the roots of the bosses 4. Blance weights 6 are fitted to such bosses 4, and slip-off is prevented by crushing the head portions of the bosses 4. Said grooves 8 function as the buffer portions of cooling speed in case of casting, and damp the rapid change of thickness or volume resulting from the each difference of the thickness or volume of the end rings 2 and the bosses 4, thus obviating the generation of the structural defects of shrinkage holes to cracks due to shrinkage or the like. Consequently, the reliability of a rotary electric machine in case of operation at high speed can be promoted.
