Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a portable unit which reduces power consumption and uses batteries as a power source by automatically detecting a recording start point by a mechanical constitution and then by performing switching control of a stop mode and reproduction mode on the basis of the detection output.
CONSTITUTION: Once tape-supply side reel frame 13 stops on detecting a recording start point, an automatic stop mechanism operates to change a tape rewind mode into a stop mode. Namely, take-up side reel frame 14 stops attending upon the stop of reel frame 13, so that detection board 132 will not be applied with rotational force any more. As a result, rest pin 133a of operation member 133 drives operation member 133 engaging with lock part 134d of automatic stopping rotation body 134. Then, support member 135 turns and the hook part at the tip of flywheel lock member 137 hooks projection part 120b of flywheel 21 to release tape take-up member 24 from an operation state through link member 138 and lock board 129. The power consumption is reduced under mechanical control like this.
