Abstract

PURPOSE: An auxiliary electrode is attached on a bulb and made at about the same potential as charged powder injected into the bulb for coating, thereby preventing the coating from applying on the bulb internal that faces the auxiliary electrode.
CONSTITUTION: In a coating process whereby charged coating powder is injected into glass bulb 1 to electrostatically coat the internal surface of the bulb, an auxiliary electrode 8 is attached on a part of the external surface of the bulb 1 so as to face the position where coating should not be applied. The potential of the auxiliary electrode 8 is made the same as that of powder 9 and powder 9 is supplied from the nozzle 4 to be deposited on the bulb internal.
