Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain grooved plates readily and inexpensively by disposing a plurality of fibrous wire materials of high hardness and strength such as of Mo, W or other in one direction in parallel with a plate material of hardness lower than that of said wire materials and pressing the same continuously with rolling rolls. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of fibers 4 of high hardness and strength such as of W, Mo or other are arrayed parallel (may be of alternately serrated configuration) in one direction to a plate material 2 which comprises soft heat treating copper, silver, Al, etc. and is of hardness smaller than that of the fibers 4. These are then inserted between rolling mill rolls 6a, 6b having been adjusted to the specific gap by way of a guide 5. Part of the fiber materials 4 are buried in the surface of the plate material 2. The fiber materials 4 are separated from the plate material 2, whereby the plate material 2 having grooves 10 is obtained. The W wires, etc. having been separated and recovered have virtually no deformations and reusable. There is no need for costly grooved rolls as with conventional methods and the grooved plate 2 is obtained extremely inexpensively.
