Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the production of fins and facilitae finishing work by connecting the boundary line between the core print of the core forming the hollow part and the main mold between the mutually opposing openings in the case of casting a differential case.
CONSTITUTION: A core print 4 is constituted by a central angle part and notched circular portions 4' at both ends and is made larger than a flange 1. The boundary line 6 between the core prints 4, 4' and differential case (main mold) 3 is so arranged as to be connected from an opening 5 to the other opening. Hence, with the differential case 3 having been cast, fins A do not produce in the flange 1 where they are difficult to be cut. In addition, not only the fins A are short in length but also they are produced on the surface where their cutting is easy, and therefore the fins may be readily removed, should they be produced.
