Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the reverse drive possible stably with high torque by feeding a step motor with the most proper pulse width that is suitable for the circumstances when a watch is used. CONSTITUTION:The output of an oscillator 90 is subjected to frequency division to generate pulses of one second so that the forward and backward pulses are composed at 92 in their waveforms in response to forward and backward signals 98. The composed waveforms are fed to a drive circuit 94 so that a step motor 96 is controlled by the output thereof. In this instance, the oscillatory condition of the rotor is detectd at 95 so that the pulse width and the step number when reversed are controlled in accordance with the detected output and the forward and backward signals. As a result, the erroneous operations are prevented when driven backward.
