Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain images of high quality and high resolution without fog on the transfer paper, by using specified additive particles having magnetic fine powder dispersed in the insulating resin, together with the toner, in the magnetic brush developing method.
CONSTITUTION: An insulating resin (styrene acrylic resin, etc.) and magnetic fine particles (magnetite, etc.) are fused and mixed at the rate of magnetic fine particles by 50 to 75 wt.% of the entire mixture. After cooling and grinding, the particle sizes are sorted, and additive particles to be used instead of the carrier, having particle resistance of more than 1012Ωcm and measuring 5 to 40 μm in grain size are produced. A developer consisting of such additive particles and a toner 8 which are blended at the rate of additive particles of more than 50% of the whole content is put into a tank 9, and is sent into a photoreceptor 1 by a developing sleeve 2 having a magnetic roller 3 inside by means of replenish roller 10 to develop. This developer can provide stable images even if development is repeated for a long period of time.
