Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound easily and in high selectivity, by reacting a metal such as Mg, Cu, Zn, or etc., or an organometallic compound (Mg or Li) with a specific iodine-containing ether, not in the vapor phase but in a solvent, and by decomposing the formed compound.
CONSTITUTION: A metal such as Mg, Cu, Zn, An-Cu, Zn-Cd, Zn-Pb, Zn-Hg, Sn, or Sb, or an organomagnecium or organolithium compound is reacted in a solvent with an iodine-containing ether, of formula SRfCF2OCF2CF2I [X is H, Cl, Br, F, CO2R (R is 1W10C alkyl), etc.; Rf is a bifunctional perfluorinated group comprising possibly one or more ether bonds.] and the formed fluoro organometallic compound is decomposed to give a fluorovinyl ether of formula XRfCF2OCF=CF2 easily and in high selectivity. Dioxane or diphenyl ehter is used as the solvent.
