Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sinkable catamoran provided with a superior efficiency of sailing in a floated state as a catamoran, and by minimizing the shake of the ship in a semisunken state at an anchorage.
CONSTITUTION: Two hulls are disposed in such a manner that each hull center line CL or CL' is parallel to the other, and a plurality of columns 2 extend upright on each deck thereof. The columns 2 support an upper structure 3 constructed over the catamoran hulls 1 and 1'. The main engine room 10 is placed in the rear of the upper structure 3, and a generator therein drives a screw 7 disposed at the rear end of the catamoran hulls 1 and 1'. Wings 5 connect two hulls so as to keep the hulls stable and to avoid quake, and maintains the strength thereof. Ballast tanks are disposed in the catamoran hulls, the columns 2 and the upper structure 3. By feeding or draining water to or from the tanks, a water lines 9 at sailing and 8 at anchoring are obtained.
