Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare an amphoteric composite resin useful as a desalination agent, easily, by adding and stirring a slurry composed of polyethyleneimine, a solvent and a weakly acidic cation exchange resin in an encapsulating medium, and crosslinking the droplets thus obtained with a polyfunctional crosslinking compound. CONSTITUTION:A slurry is prepared by mixing (a) polyethyleneimine, (b) a solvent of polyethyleneimine, e.g. ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc., and (c) 0.1-10 moles, pref. 0.2-8 moles, based on 1 mole of amino group of the polyethyleneimine, of a 200-800 mesh weakly acidic cation exchange resin. The slurry is added to an encapsulation medium such as hexane, carbon tetrachloride, etc., under stirring, and the resulting droplets are crosslinked with a polyfunctional crosslinking agent such as methylene chloride, p-chloromethylbenzene, etc.
