Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the variation in the amplitude of the output voltage of an AC power supply apparatus for a train by compensating the variation by a voltage detector provided at the output side of a fliter circuit when the DC input voltage of an inverter is stepwisely altered.
CONSTITUTION: An electric power converted to AC by an inverter 2 through an aerial line K, a pantagraph PAN, a filter FIL1, a chopper 1 and filter FIL2 is outputted as an internal AC power supply from a trnasformer 3. The output voltage from the transformer is applied through an insulating transformer 4 to a rectifying circuit 5, and compared with a standard voltage formed by a voltage setting potentiometer 6. The compared deviation signal is applied to a compensating circuit 7. The output of the circuit 7 controls through a phase shift contriller 8 the on and off time of a chopper 1. A DC voltage detector PT is provided at the input side of the chopper 1 to apply its output signal through a blind zone circuit 9 and a limiter 10 for controlling excessive voltage to subtract the deviation signal of the compensating circuit 7 to thereby compensate the variation of the voltage.
