Abstract
PURPOSE:To position a commodity with a corner part for welding by a laser beam, by providing a projector with a cylindrical lens, a moving unit, a photo detector, and a detector, and by detecting the peak value of reflected light at the corner part by focusing the detection light of the projector on the commodity after spreading it in a line. CONSTITUTION:Projector 27 is so provided that detection light 26 will focus on fixed positon 16a where there is the corner of thin-plate member 12a. Photo detector 29 is provided where scattering light from fixed position 16a strikes sufficiently, avoiding a direction in which a plane part near fixed position 16a reflects detection light 26 regularly during the movement of commodity 11. Consequently, a large output can be obtained from photo detector 29 when fixed position 16a agrees with the focal point. The position is (xa) and the output decreases suddenly before and after fixed position 16a. The operation is started after the adjustment of the position relation among work laser beam 2, projector 27, photo detector 29, and positioned commodity 11.
