Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture an easy-open can lid by the procedure in which a scoring processing is applied on a cold rolled steel plate containing specific amounts of one or body of Ti and P and then hydrogen is absorbed in the steel. CONSTITUTION:An appropriate surface treatment is applied on a cold rolled steel plate containing one or both of Ti(0.05 to 0.3wt%) and P(0.01 to 0.15wt%) as steel components, and then a scoring processing of a sectionally inversed rack or triangle form is applied on the steel and then hydrogen is occluded in the steel. The hydrogen occlusion treatment is made by a cathodic treatment in which treatment is made in an aqueous solution of Na2SO4, Na2SO3, etc., using can-lid steel subject to scoring processing as cathode and also carbon bar or stainless steel as insoluble anode, or by a method in which a hydrogen absorption accelerator is added.
