Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove nonmetal impurities present in molten steel by making them adhere to the surface of refractory by dipping refractory in molten steel while cooling its inside. CONSTITUTION:The refractory 10 is dipped in the molten steel 1 while cooling its inside 11 with air or water, whereupon the alumina-containing steel 13 adheres partially on the surface of the refractory 10 at first and then the white alumina particles 14 adhere on its outside. The Fig. shows an example of the dipping of U- shaped refractory in ladle. It may be used in turn-dish.
