Abstract

PURPOSE: To absorb surge upon disconnecting an input-and-output switch for a convertor by inserting resistances for a generator brake without fail and thereby generating braking power before opening the input-and-output switch for the convertor.
CONSTITUTION: Alternative electric sources U, V, W, are received by a switch SW1B and converted by a convertor CC1, and thereafter, are supplied to bus bars A through a switch SW2B. Driving coils LMn for unit linear motors for each coach are excited by operating division switches SWn. Before opening the input-and- output switch SW2B, a switch SW3B is closed and power of a generator brake is generated by resistances RB.
