Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of biased flow of gas accompanying the biased flow of liquid as well as prevent the biased flow of supply gas by providing a gas resistor to each wetted wall of multitubular wetted wall tower.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid supplied from the nozzle 2 falls down the wetted wall tube 5 in a filmy state, contacts a counterflow of supply gas, and then goes out of the nozzle 8 while absorbing effective components pressent in gas and also dispersing specific components present in liquid. On the other hand, the supply gas from the nozzle 7 goes up the wetted wall tube 5 and then goes out of the nozzle 1. In such a multitubular wetted wall tower, the upper end and/or the lower end of the wetted wall tube 5 has a sectional area smaller than the sectional area of the wetted wall tube 5 and its inside is provided with the gas resistor 9, through which more than 60%, preferably more than 80%, of supply gas can pass, concentrically with the wetted wall tube 5. Thus, expected results can be attained without increasing the pressure loss of supply gas and affecting the dispersion of supply liquid.
