Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a bearing alloy having a resistance to corrosion and seizure and a good breaking-in property, by mixing aluminium or aluminium alloy powder with lead alloy powder containing tin, antimony or the like, shaping the mixture under pressure and hot-extruding the shaped mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The lead alloy powder containing 3 to 20% by weight of at least one of tin, antimony, bismuth and indium is mixed with the aluminium or aluminium alloy powder so that the mixture contains 20 to 45% by weight of the lead alloy powder. The mixed powder is tentatively shaped under pressure. The mixture is then hot-extruded. A bearing, which has a high resistance to seizure and fatigue and a good breaking-in property, can be made from the extruded mixture.
