Abstract
PURPOSE: To dispose fine industrial waste contg. heavy metals without causing secondary pollution by mixing the waste with cement and a water sol. sulfide in the presence of water and by allowing the mixt. to stand to solidify it.
CONSTITUTION: Fine powder of sludge, collected dust, incineration ashes, etc. contg. heavy metals such as Zn, Pb and Cu is dried, and to 100 parts of the dried fine powder are added 0.1W20 parts of a water sol. solfide such as Na2S, K2S, CaS or (NH4)2S. Portland cement, sand and water are further added, and they are kneaded well, allowed to stand, and solidified with the cement. By the effect of blending the sulfide the solidified product exhibits water resistance, etc. leaches very little heavy metals, is very stable, and causes no secondary pollution.
