Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to correct dropped-out signals on a basis of reproducing signals and to reproduce PCM signals well by recording a pair of interleaved frames on tracks in the edge side and the center side.
CONSTITUTION: Left and right stereophonic signals are inputted to frame distributing control circuit 8 through LPF1 and 1', interleave circuit 6 and error code generation and addition circuit 7 and are supplied to shift register 9 by every one-frame components of signals. Then, in respect to frame signals outputted successively from registers 9a, 9b..., one signals are recorded on the track in the edge side of tape 13, and the other signals are recorded on the track on the center side of tape 13. Consequently, when signals recorded in the edge side are dropped out, correction can be performed on a basis of the other reproducing signals.
