Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size and simplify the construction of wire dot printer and to facilitate the handling of the same, by providing an ink-supplying porous member which is adapted to rotate in contact with a rotatable platen.
CONSTITUTION: An ink roll 5 is adapted to rotate in contact with a platen 4, so that a liquid ink is applied and spread thinnly on the surface of the platen 4. A wire projected from a dot head 1 collides with the platen 4 through the medium of a recording paper 3, so that the characters are recorded in the recording paper 3. The dot head 1 moves along a guide shaft 2 and is returned to the starting position as the printing of one line is over. In the meanstime, the platen makes an angular displacement by an angle corresponding to one line and the recording paper 3 is also rotated by a roller 6 by a distance corresponding to one line.
