Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the heating performance even in case of the low loading of an engine by a method wherein a fan, a heat exchanger and a heat accumulator are arranged and the accumulator means for discharging heat in response to a phase change of melting and solidification is stored in the heat accumulator. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water from the engine 1 is fed to a radiator 2 via the primary and secondary pipings 3 and 4. The heat exchanger 5 is installed in the heater unit P and the engine cooling water is fed to the heat exchanger 5 via the primary and secondary pipings 6 and 7. The fan 8 for sending air to the heat exchanger 5 is installed and at the same time the heat accumulator 12 is arranged in the midway of the primary piping 6. The heat accumulator 12 stores a heat accomulation means 13 for storing heat or discharging heat in response to a change of phase of melting or solidification, and a passage for the cooling water 14 is arranged, capsules 18 are supported with a clearance for the passage 14 being left in the casing 16 having a thermal insulator 15 therein, then a heat accumulation material A is filled in the capsules 18.
