Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the voltage-resisting performance between coils, and enable a commutator motor to be used with different voltages, by providing two commutators on a rotor, and winding one of the coils, which is connected to one of the commutators, on the lower side of slots, and the other coil, which is connected to the other commutator, on the upper side of the slots. CONSTITUTION:Commutators 4, 5 are mounted on both end portions of a rotor core 1 mounted on a rotary shaft 3. Each of the commutators 4, 5 is provided with brushes 6, 7, respectively. The first rotor coil 9 connected to one commutator 4 is wound through a lower side of slots in the rotor core 1, and the second rotor coil 10 connected to the other commutator 5 through an upper side of the slots in the rotor core 1. Coils provided in slots in a stator core 2 are divided into the first and second stator coils 11, 12. When a commutator motor having the above-described structure is used in a low-voltage area, all of the rotor coils 9, 10 and stator coils 11, 12 are connected in series. When the commutator motor is used in a high-voltage area, these rotor coils and stator coils are connected in series and parallel in a predetermined manner.
