Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the deterioration of picture quality even with the error in the result of detection of the movement of picture, by taking the video signal of post frame period and the picture signal mad for correction based on the movement of the picture selectively as the prediction picture signal. CONSTITUTION:The picture signal of post frame period making correction to the movement of picture and the picture signal of present frame period are fed to the subtraction unit 1, and the difference signal is introduced to the absolute unit 3. On the other hand, the piecture signal of original post frame period and the picture signal of the present frame period are fed to the subtraction unit 2, and the difference signal is fed to the absolute unit 4. The absolute value of the difference signals is fed to the subtractor 5 for the comparison of amplitude, and based on the result, the change-over switch 6 introducing the picture signal of the post frame period performing the correction to the movement of picture and the picture signal original post frame period is controlled, and the post frame period picture signal having smaller absolute value of difference is taken out as the prediction picture signal of the present frame period.
