Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote the reducing reaction by a method wherein, in case of reducing substances within an aqueous solution by a reactive gas, a catalitic component and a water repellent agent are coexisted with catalyst to be used to supply a gas component and dissolved substances to a surface of said catalyst together.
CONSTITUTION: In case of reducing ions or molecules within an aqueous solution by using a reducing gas such as hydrogen or carbon monoxide, a catalyst coexisting catalitic component and a water repellent agent such as a dispersion of polytetrafluoroethylene or polyethylene together is used. Thereby, a gas component and dissolved substances within an aqueous solution are easily supplied to a catalyst surface and reducing reaction is rapidly progressed at a catalyst activating point.
