Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a simple reverse osmosis device at low cost being provided with a self-cooling mechanism by a method wherein reverse osmosis modules are cooled with the evaporation heat of permeating water on the outer surfaces of films in the inner pressure type tubular reverse osmosis device.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid to be concentrated sent into a concentration tank 1 passes through a suction duct 4, is pressed by means of a pressing pump 2, and forwarded into reverse osmosis modules 3 through a pressing duct 5. The reverse osmosis modules 3 are connected by connecting ducts 6. Permeating water separated by means of the reverse osmosis modules 3 flows down forming wet-walls along the outer surfaces of the modules 3, and is introduced to the outside of the system by a permeating water duct 8. Meanwhile, concentrated liquid is introduced into the concentration tank 1 by a return duct 7, and repeatedly concentrated to a high degree. The permeating water on the outer surfaces of the reverse osmosis modules 3 is evaporated on the way of flowing-down, and cooled by the evaporation heat, and a temperature rise of the liquid to be concentrated is inhibited. The reverse osmosis modules 3 are not broken by negative pressure because a water-level of the concentration tank 1 is higher than the lower ends of the reverse osmosis modules 3.
