Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve suction performance and provide a pump whose size and weight are reduced without heightening its rotational frequency, by unequally placing suction ports and discharge ports so that the suction zone of each vane chamber is larger than its discharge zone.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor 3 is rotated in a rotor casing 1 equipped with a cam ring 2. Numerous vanes 5 are radially attached to the rotor 3 so that the vanes come into contact with the inside surface of the cam ring 2 of the rotor casing 1. Suction ports 6 and discharge port 7 communicate with the suction zones 9 and discharge zones 10 of vane chambers 8 between the rotor 3 and the cam ring 2. A fluid is sucked and discharged by the expansion and contraction of the vane chambers 8. The suction ports 6 and the discharge ports 7 are unequally placed so that the suction zone 9 of each vane chamber 8 is larger than its discharge zone 10.
