Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve recording quality by fixing a gap between an ink jet head and a recording medium in such a manner as to bring the recording medium in contact with a part of an ink jet head whick jets ink. CONSTITUTION:A gap adjusting arm 6 is attached to a part of an ink jet head 1, and by pressing this gap adjusting arm 6 against a recording medium 2, the recording medium is tightly attached to the ink jet head by its springing force. As this mechanism is designed to absorb the error of parallelism between a feeding screw 4 and a platen shaft 3 and the variation of gap caused by backlash, etc., between the ink jet 1 and the feeding screw 4, so that recording quality can be improved.
