Abstract
PURPOSE: The title antifogging agent, usable for the windshield glass of an automobile in the winter and rainy seasons, capable of maintaining the remarkable antifog properties upon coating and drying on the glass surface, and consisting of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose mainly.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, as a main component is mixed with (B) 1W50wt% based on (A) of polyvinyl alcohol to form an aqueous solution for increasing the adhesiveness to glass. The solution is then mixed with (C) 0.06W0.05vol% a surfactant of the straight-chain alkylbenzene or higher alcohol type to give the objective antifogging agent without causing phase separation. The high mixing ratio of (B) is effective in preventing the agent from dissolving and flowing in the rainy weather.
EFFECT: Safe even on touching with the hand due to no toxicity.
