Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable heavy cutting and improve cutting performance, by separately and removably attaching bottom cutting tips and side cutting tips to the body of a tool to reduce the loads upon the tips by one another. CONSTITUTION:Bottom cutting tips 6, 6' are symmetrically attached in a throw- away manner by wedges and screws in the recess 2 of the hemispherical end of the body 1 of a tool. Side cutting tips 7, 7 are secured in grooves 5 by screws 82, 83. The tips 6, 6', 7 can be easily replaced when they are worn out. The cutting edges of the tips mutually reduce the loads upon themselves. Efficient cutting is thus performed on the bottom and side of the tool.
