Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate operation miss of supply and break of electric power by supplying electric power when insertion of the floppy disc medium and one closed door are detected by a detector. CONSTITUTION:When floppy disc medium 2 is inserted from medium insertion inlet 22, it is detected by medium insertion detector 8 to operate a switch circuit, and electric power to be supplied to drive motor 6 and other electric circuits in floppy disc driving unit 1 is applied. By this supply of electric power, drive motor 6 starts rotating, and rotation is transferred to spindle 4 through pulleys 18 and 19 and belt 20, and spindle 4 rotates. Therefore, damage of the medium dependent upon operation miss of electric power supply and break and reduction of the life of the unit dependent upon continuous supply of electric power at an unused time can be prevented.
