Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a transformer of good characteristics easily by a method wherein a continuous steel band is rolled up in advance to form a rolled steel band, which is rolled back from outside after annealing and divided into small rolled steel bands in order of roll diameter, and these bands are rolled in onto a ring in the orde starting from smaller diameter. CONSTITUTION:A steel band is rolled in onto a ring 11 to form a rolled steel band 12 of which outside diameter D and inside diameter d are made the same as those of a required rolled core. The rolled steel band 12 is annealed with its shape fixed as it is, and thereafter, is rolled back from outside to be divided into small rolled steel bands 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d in order of roll diameter. Then, the divided rolled steel band 12a is rolled again to have the same outside diameter D as the prior dividing manner and an inside diameter d1 equivalent to an outside diameter D1 of the rolled steel band 12b, and other bands are rolled likewise in order to complete a transformer with required core dimensions. It is possible to manufacture a transformer of good characteristics easily by dividing the rolled steel band 12 into several steel bands in rolling it back to remarkably reducing a stress imposed thereon.
