Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate solenoid valves and reduce weight and cost of an engine carburetor, by utilizing a differential pressure between supercharged pressure and suction pressure or atmospheric pressure for switching to a suction passage of float chamber or to a canister.
CONSTITUTION: A diaphragm 63d is displaced upward, while an engine is in operation, due to suction pressure applied to an upper chamber 63c of a control unit 63, which pulls a two-way valve 62 upward to close a passage 61 and communicates an air passage 59 with an air vent 60 and accordingly an atmospheric chamber of a float chamber 54 is communicated with the air vent 60. For gearing to power operation with increased suction air to the engine, air is fed from a supercharger in a lower chamber 63b of the control unit 63, the diaphragm 63d is displaced upward and the two-way valve 62 completely shuts off the passage 61. For interrupting the engine, the diaphragm 63d of the control unit 63 is displaced a shown by the figure and the two-way valve 62 closes the air vent 60 to communicate the air passage 59 with the passage 61.
