Abstract

PURPOSE: An insulin pharmaceutical preparation capable of remedying diafetes, effective in a small amount, readily absorbable through the tunica mucosa especially in the form of a supporsitory or sublingual tablet, obtained by adding a specific acid to insulin and an excipien for preparing a drug absorbable through the tunica mucosa.
CONSTITUTION: Insulin and an excipien for preparing a drug absorbable through the tunica mucosa are blended with an acid, e.g, a 1W6C lower saturated fatty acid, lower aliphthatic oxycarboxylic acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, benzoic acid, phthalic acid, monochloroacetic acid, acrylic acid, pyrubic acid, to give an insulin pharmaceutical preparation. The amount of the acid is 0.01W0.5wt%, preferably 0.02W0.1wt% based on the total composition. The addition of a protease inhibitor continues the effect of insulin. Insulin is dissolved in an aqueous acid solution, to which the excipien is added to give the insulin pharmaceutical preparation. By this method the absorption effect is improved. Effective in an amount of one-scores of insulin in a conventional suppository.
