Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat liquefied coating materials without mixing them, to increase line speep and to prevent eccentricity by a method wherein the liquefied coating materials in crucibles at the inside and the outside are kept within ranges that the materials move between each outlet in laminar flow shape and the surface of a blank is simultaneously coated.
CONSTITUTION: A double crucible is used which an outlet 101 of an inside crucible 10 is upward shifted only by distance S in the axial direction from an outlet 121 of an outside crucible 12, an optical fiber 14 is downward projected on the center line, and a primary coating and a cushion layer are simultaneously coated. However, the said coating is done keeping the travelling speed of the optical fiber 14 and the distance S between the outlets within ranges that resin 18 for the primary coat, which adheres on the fiber and flows out from the inside crucible 10, and resin 16 for the cushion layer mutually move between the outlets 101 and 121 in laminar flow shape.
