Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a smooth fail-free open/close operation by a mechanism wherein a down-faced bucket float is freely contained in a valve chamber and the float seal-face makes open/close of a valve mouth having a spherical valve seat with an annular groove and installed on the side face of the valve chamber.

CONSTITUTION: When a nearly spherical down-faced bucket float 11 having a deaeration hole 12 and a mouthpiece 13 is located at the lowest position, the inner wall of the float ceiling is placed on the top of steam inlet pipe 8 in the valve chamber 5. When steam is passed through pipe 8 and inlet 10 into the valve chamber 5, flotage moves up the float to the two-dot line position. As a result, the surface 15 of the float 11 closes valve mouth 19 having sperical valve seat 22 with annular groove 23 and installed on the side face of the valve chamber 5. When regenerated water enters the float 11, steam condenses and part of which escapes from the hole 12. Thus, the float 11 loses the flotage and opens the valve mouth 19. This protects a valve from conventional engaging or seizure, secures a defined area for regenerated water present between the seal surface 15 and valve seat 22, and thereby provides a constant maximum open valve pressure.
